We needed a place for one night, whilst heading to Wales. It proved great value for the three of us. The place had good parking and the house was set in a beautiful garden. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was plentiful and great selection. Whilst planes do fly over, we had no disturbance during the night. We visited the recently refurbished Devonshire Arms pub. Food was great and drinks and food are excellent value. The Cottage is a great place to stay if you are flying from Liverpool airport.

Really lovely little b&b in Hale village.dog friendly and beautiful room with a huge wet room. The owner Carol was very accommodating and friendly. The room was brilliant for myself and my mum who has mobility issues. Lovely village near a pub park and close to speke and not far from liverpool city centre. Ideal for john Lennon airport too. Thank you Carol for a very comfortable stay!

I didn't stay at the Cottage. But we used the cattery. Our poor cat had a massive sore and was clearly distressed the treatment cost us over £200. When we questioned why the cat hadn't seen a vet. We were told they hadn't noticed anything was wrong. The whole of the cats behind was raw and the fur missing. She made a full recovery but we would never use this place again.

I have to tell the truth. SORRY. My husband my two quiet beautiful tiny dogs stayed over Xmas period 2017 at this place. Very kind of them to accommodate us this time of year. But ...Carol lovely except first thing in the morning a bit moody and unfriendly so hence I felt so uncomfortable. Delivering COLD bacon and egg sandwiches uncovered with a COLD delivery to match to our door only one day out of 5 did We get food. We did nothing to these people other than book accommodation. ...He is not friendly at all no matter what and so abrupt to the point I avoided him as much as poss. ...Curtains covered in years of dust on top. ...TV far too small and far away. TV about 20"? ...Cups one of them black with scrapes from spoons looked dirty so we did not use. You can buy cups for a £1. ...Windows had mould could have done with the use of mildew remover. ...Bathroom did not smell fresh no cleaning substance at all. Had my own domestos and within 10 mins of using my cleaner all the floor shower tiles looked so much cleaner. Again they could use mildew remover or other cleaners that clean and smell fresh. ...Fan did not work at all in bathroom causing mould build-up. ...I was constantly told when we booked that they were doggie friendly and Carol even offered to look after our dogs if we needed to go out to eat on Xmas day. I thought how lovely yet I was not allowed to have breakfast and could not leave my small dogs as one of them is a rescue doggie and cannot leave her yet that I've only had for a few month. We have given her a loving home. I thought we would have been allowed breakfast somehow. Not mentioned when booking that although doggie friendly there was no friendliness at all. He, Ian was so abrupt on the first day to me when I was about to go for breakfast he said with agression and to my horror "YOUR NOT TAKING THEM (my tiny dogs) INTO OUR HOUSE ARE YOU" (we were in the mews away from their B&B) I understand and respect people do not always like dogs where food is BUT be honest and tell people like us when booking that there are issues and yr rules so I quickly made an excuse and had to lie by telling him I was taking my dogs for a walk and I was not heading to HIS house the truth was I so starving and hungry. I had to go to the local DOG FRIENDLY pub hours later for food. The people there were so much more helpful and so much more friendly doggie friendly. ...We were also NOT informed by this Business that we were so close to the airport but worse the planes were right low overhead above us arriving at such a quick pace so loud and scary the NOISE???? Why is that not initially mentioned. Deceitful. We tried to find somewhere else to stay as we felt so unhappy by these people and the noise and lack of food. A very difficult time of year we had to then put up with the situation. ...The heating was not on. No central heating the radiators did not work or deliberately off. I didn't feel able to approach them so I froze and was so cold. They had my number (mobile) and not once did they ring me or check on me knowing my husband was away working. But he could try my bedroom door handle (creepy) scaring me and setting my dogs off barking. THEY could have just phoned. ...On the only one morning that Carol made us bacon and egg sandwiches she arrived at our door in a ugly tired mood and was so so MISERABLE I felt I had put her to so much trouble but I was paying ? They should never have let us stay there if she/he felt like this. It made us nervous and so so unhappy. Spoilt our Xmas. ... We will never go there again. No care or consideration. ...THEY NEED TO BE MUCH MORE CUSTOMER CONSCIOUS. PUT THE CUSTOMER F I R S T NOT T H E M S E L V E S.

Lovely B&B. Nice comfy rooms, good shower, nice selection for breakfast. Two pubs in the village which will supply you your dinner. Highly recommend.
